Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) takes place in a Cryosauna – a cylindrical open-topped chamber – into which the nitrogen vapour is released. During the session, blood will rush to the core and once the session is over, the blood returns to the extremities carrying newly released neurotransmitters and hormones that can dramatically lower inflammation, increase collagen levels, and boost mood are among the many benefits. To battle the cold, the body increases metabolism to create heat, which burns fat and provides a boost of energy.

Tip: Infrared Sauna after Full Body Cryotherapy is the best Sports Recovery combo.
During a 2 to 3 minute session, blood vessels in your skin’s surface and muscle tissue contract, forcing blood away from the peripheral tissues and toward your core. In the core, the body’s natural filtration system works to remove toxins and inflammatory properties of the blood.
After exiting the cryotherapy chamber, you will feel a tingling throughout that is the filtered blood flowing back to the peripheral tissues. Now cleaner and enriched with oxygen, nutrients and enzymes – your blood warms and enriches skin and muscles, and range of motion increases.
Over the next 24 hours the process of restoration occurs and the body returns to a former and better state or condition with the reduced pain and inflammation, and increased energy levels. Recovery times from strenuous workouts and injury are improved and shortened.
Sign waiver and confirm you have no medical conditions. Make sure you do not put any lotion or extra moisture on your skin for at least an hour prior to treatment.
You will then get undressed to the level of your comfort in the changing room. Men must wear compression shorts, cotton briefs or boxers. Women can wear cotton underwear, but it is not necessary. In addition, do not wear any metal jewelry below your neck.
We will provide you with a robe to keep you covered up between the changing room and the WBC chamber. We will also provide you with the gloves, socks and rubber shoes that you will be required to wear while in the chamber
One of our staff members will be supervising your treatment from beginning to end. We will set up the chamber so that your head is above the rim of the chamber to ensure that you are able to breathe in enough oxygen during your treatment.
If you’re a first timer, you will be limited to two minutes during your initial session. After that, the subsequent sessions will last no more than 3 minutes. The chamber door is never locked, so you are free to exit any time you so desire, just let the staff member know.
Once the three minutes are over, the technician will hand back the robe to you and you can call it a day. After the session, it’s normal to feel a little cold to the touch, but since the cooling system is dry, you will warm up almost immediately.
Usually our clients experience a release of endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevator, a lift that can last for several hours. Depending on your physical condition, you may feel immediate relief from joint and muscle pain, improved energy, and increased flexibility that can last for several hours or even days.
We will provide you with robe, socks, clogs and gloves. Men must wear underwear, for women it is optional. No metal, jewelry piercing below the neck. Skin must be completely dry; no perspiration, moisture or lotions. If you are doing Whole Body Cryotherapy for Sports Recovery, we recommend you wait 2 hours after your workout, race or game. Prior to the activity, there is no recommended wait time.
If you are under the care of physician or taking medication, please consult with your medical provider before using any services in the spa.
